Gear selction

Old KX 125 .... When I get to top gear I cannot shift it back into a lower gear unless I stop the bike and then it will come back down again!! - is it the clutch or something more major in the gear box.

Gday Jimmy,

if the clutch engages and disengages then its probably not that. Given the age of the bike its most likely that one of the many springs, spacers or washers in the gear mech is worn or broken.

best to pull of the side cover and take a look, i rekon it will stick out like dogs....
